Returning after a less than 2 year break?

If you were previously enrolled and in good academic standing

If you were disqualified and have been away for less than one year

  • Gone one semester or less after disqualification? Meet with an advisor and complete the Undergraduate Petition for Reinstatement from Disqualification.

  • You only need to reapply if your reinstatement isn’t approved.

  • If your reinstatement is approved, your advisor will complete the Petition and submit it to the Registrar's Office on your behalf. 


Returning after a more than 2 year break?

Returning Transfer Students

  • If you left Cal State LA over 2 years ago (or were disqualified) and took classes at another college/university or through PaGE, you’re a Returning Transfer Student.

  • Don’t use the Returning Student Verification form. You’ll need to reapply through Cal State Apply and meet regular transfer admission requirements.

Returning Students

  • If you left Cal State LA over 2 years ago (or were disqualified) and did not take any classes elsewhere (college/university or PaGE), you’re a Returning Student.

  • ✅ Fill out the below Returning Student Verification form only if it is AFTER the posted transfer applicant deadline for the desired re-admission term. Before then, you may reapply directly through Cal State Apply.
